April 3 - High School Update on End of Year Major Events

As we approach the end of the school year with uncertainty about the normal function of many of our traditional events, we will keep you informed as we continue throughout the year.  Our goal will be to address the status of events as soon as possible knowing that the current situation will require us all to be very flexible with possibilities and scheduling. Although we will make every attempt to hold our normal end of year events, the health and safety of our students, staff, and community will always take precedence in our decision making process.

PROM - Scheduled for May 1, 2020

The Saucon Valley High School Prom has now officially been postponed.  With social distancing measures required through April 30th, holding a Prom on May 1st is simply not a possibility.  Our goal will be to reschedule our Prom to a date in early June (tentatively Wednesday June 3rd) as long as conditions and health officials allow for that possibility.  We are working with our current facility concerning the postponement to a later date and more information will come in the future.

SENIOR CLASS TRIP - Scheduled for May 29, 2020

At this time there has been no official decision made for this year’s Senior Class Trip since we are still nearly 7 weeks away.  With our destination being New York City however, we will be watching developments very closely. We will be working with all companies involved with our trip to determine what possibilities there are in terms of moving forward with the trip, postponement, or cancellation.  As we move closer to this trip, more information will be available.

GRADUATION

The Commencement Ceremony for the 123rd Graduating Class of Hellertown/Saucon Valley High School is scheduled for Friday June 5, 2020.  At this time we hope that conditions will allow for our traditional ceremony to be held at Saucon Valley High School.   As time progresses will be monitoring guidance from health officials, especially those concerning large crowds, to determine our best course of action for this year’s commencement exercises.

Thank You,
