With us now starting our second week of program suspension due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we wish to give you an update and some information on a few important Items:
Return of Sports:
At this point in time we do not have a timeline for return. We know that the first possible return date is Monday, March 30th but that will greatly depend on the situation at hand concerning COVID-19. As long as schools remain closed, our athletic and activities suspension will continue. Should schools re-open, a determination on how programs will proceed will be through the guidance of the PIAA, District XI, the Colonial League, and our school district.
Inactivity During Suspension of Programs:
A reminder that student-athletes are not to be participating in any sports related activities with each other or in groups during this suspension. This is a responsibility of both the student-athletes and parents to monitor. Student-Athletes should be practicing important Social Distancing procedures and remaining at home whenever possible. Individual workout and sport skill activities are encouraged. Group workout and sport skill activities are prohibited.
Academics During Athletic Suspension:
When Spring sports return, athletes will need to be in good academic standing to begin participation. Obviously academics are going to look a little different in the near future, however, it is expected that our student-athletes remain in good standing. Student-Athletes who put little to no effort into their academic participation during online education sessions can be deemed academically ineligible upon return. It is important that student-athletes are engaged in their classes daily.
