March 16 - Continuity of Education Plan K-12

SVSD Students, Families, and Staff,
We are prepared to continue our students’ learning through our digital platforms and
resources. We will start instruction on Monday, March 23rd. On Thursday March 19th, between
the hours of 9 am – 12 pm, students should go online and check connectivity to Schoology
(grades 3-12) or Seesaw (grades K-2). If you are unable to access these sites, please contact
your child’s teacher who will contact the District Help Desk. If your child does not have access
to wifi, please come to the food service free meal pick-up area at the Middle School traffic loop
between the hours of 11:30am-1:30pm, Tuesday through Thursday of this week to request a
mobile hotspot (please note that there are limited amounts available). The District will look to
be responsive to requests for hotspots beyond our inventory.
Teacher's hours will be from 8 am – 3 pm. Planning will take place from 8-9 am. During the
hours of 9 am – 12 pm teachers will provide content/instruction online for students following
the schedule below. From 1-3 pm teachers will have virtual office hours for their students and
be available for essential online meetings.
If students are unable to be online during the schedule below, please check in with the
teachers of the courses on a daily basis. Students should make every effort to login during the
Monday and Thursday:
9-10:25am: English Language Arts (ELA)
10:35am-12pm: Social Studies
Tuesday and Friday:
Grades K-2: Please use materials sent home with further communication to follow
9-10:25am: Related Arts
10:35am - 11:15am: ELA
11:20am - 12pm: Mathematics
Grades 7 & 8:
9-10:25pm: Related Arts

*Students in dual-enrollment courses should follow the guidelines set forth by their
*BAVTS students: BAVTS is closed for 2 weeks (same dates issued by the State).
Grades K-2 Teachers will communicate to parents through Seesaw.
Grades 3-12 Teachers will communicate and provide assignment information/details in
Schoology. Students will submit assignments through Schoology.
School Counselors and Nurses will have virtual office hours from 8-9am and 12-3pm.
From 9-11am, Counselors will be involved with building-level responsibilities and
essential online meetings.
At this time we continue to rely upon the Pennsylvania Department of Education for
guidance and possible decisions surrounding State testing (PSSA and Keystone) as
well as the College Board regarding AP and SAT testing. As the district receives
information it will be shared with all stakeholders.
