Welcome

  • The HS Library is open during the school year Monday-Friday, 7:30-3:30

Information Literacy for Lifelong Learners

  • The goal of the high school library is to assist students in becoming information literate citizens who think creatively, develop an interest in learning, and use information skillfully.  The library teacher strives to help students confidently answer their own questions and research their interests using the information available to them to make educated decisions as they become responsible members of society.

The library is open each school day from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. In addition to a collection of 16,000 carefully selected volumes and audio/visual materials, students may access online databases, periodical indexes, ebooks, and photo archives. The library teacher provides instruction in research skills, search strategy, Internet use, copyright issues, and format for citing sources and writing papers.  The promotion of recreational reading is also a large part of the library and students will find many current, relevant and award-winning fictional works that include prose novels, verse, and graphic novels.
