Jasmine Kreps

Long-Term Substitute (LTS) Special Education Teacher • Saucon Valley Middle School

What do you enjoy about subbing at Saucon Valley?

“I have enjoyed the Special Education middle school team SO much! They have been so warm and welcoming to me as well as the rest of the staff. They are a great group of professionals to work with, and they know their students well!”

What have you learned from your experience?

“I have been able to ease into working with middle school students, and I have loved it! I don't know if I ever would have committed to a full classroom until I tried subbing first with this age range. Now, I don't know how I will go back to just the littles! My heart for teaching has grown in a new direction.”

What has been the most rewarding aspect?

“Making student relationships. The first few weeks I was 'the sub,' but now students know my name, know my teaching style, and I have great relationships with them! It has been so nice to build a foundation with them and I look forward to our year ahead!”

What have you learned from your experience?

“Subbing has taught me a lot about flexibility and adapting to the needs of each classroom and student. Since every day and every group of students can be different, I’ve learned to adjust my approach and find different ways to be supportive.”

What has been the most rewarding aspect?

“The most rewarding part has been building relationships with the students and knowing that I can make a positive difference, even when I’m only in the classroom for a day. It’s especially rewarding when students recognize me, are excited to see me, or come to me for help.”
