Hellertown, PA – The Saucon Valley School Board has officially approved the instructional calendar for the 2026-2027 school year, outlining key dates for students, parents, and staff. The upcoming academic year will consist of 184 student days and 192 teacher days.

Kicking Off the Year

Teachers are scheduled to return for district in-service days starting August 19, 2026. Students will officially begin their classes on Monday, August 24, 2026. To help families prepare, the district has scheduled a series of Open House events in late August:

  • 5th Grade: August 19 (5–7 p.m.)
  • Kindergarten: August 20 (staggered sessions)
  • Middle School (Grades 6-8): August 26 (5–7 p.m.)
  • Elementary (Grades 1-4): August 27 (5-7 p.m.)

Major Breaks and Holidays

The calendar includes several traditional breaks to support student and staff wellness:

  • Labor Day: Schools closed September 7, 2026.
  • Fall Break: Students and teachers will be off November 26–27, 2026.
  • Winter Break: Schools will close from December 24, 2026, through January 1, 2027.
  • Spring Break: A short recess is scheduled for March 25–26, 2027.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Dedicated time for parent-teacher communication is set for late November. High School conferences will take place during the day on November 23, while K-8 conferences are held that evening. The schedule flips on November 24, with K-8 meeting during the day and the High School in the evening.

Closing the Year

Barring any significant weather disruptions, the last day for both students and teachers is currently set for June 3, 2027, which will be a full day of instruction.
