2024 Marching Band Show - "Arabian Tales"

The Saucon Valley High School Panthers Marching Band is proud to present their 2024 competitive show “Arabian Tales.” The band is under the leadership of director Kaela Bitting, color guard instructor Rachael Noone, drill writer and instructor Ken Zimmerman, drumline instructor Jason Beck, and percussion caption head Steve Roman. Student section leaders include Moss Jeanmonod, Olivia Conover, Dane Evans, Natalie King, Tess Wenger, Stephen Vautrin, Nick Porterfield, Brandon Shaffer, Annabella Story, and Maddie Janis. The band is led by student drum major Roberta Silverthorn.

“Arabian Tales” is a show that blends the music of Samuel Hazo’s “Arabesque” with themes from Rimsky-Kosakov’s “Scheherazade” and Saint-Saens’s “Danse Bacchanale.” The tales open with the dizzying spiral of “Sandstorm” that blows into the tale of the “Magic Carpet.” From there we get a rare glimpse of the beautiful “Peacock Princess” before the field is overtaken by the tale of  “The Snake Charmer.” Once the Sultan steps out onto the field, the tale of “Sultan’s Dance” livens up the space before the band takes the audience on one final journey with the tale of “Sinbad’s Voyage.” Join the band as they seek out the ancient story book and watch as the tales come to life right before your very eyes!
