Junior Zara Ortiz inspires yet again at a special conference.

Hellertown, PA -- Zara Ortiz is a name to remember. The junior, better known by some as "IronMan," recently added another item to her growing resume: Ortiz represented the district at the Pennsylvania State Education Technology Conference -- an event mainly for educators. There, she engaged with educators from across the state and showcased projects she created by 3D printing.

During the conference, Ortiz wore her 3D printed IronMan suit and hosted a table where teachers and education professionals stopped to ask questions, exchange ideas and provide feedback. Ortiz says a main focal point of her table was a robotic arm she recently developed. Many meaningful conversations centered on the importance of sparking creativity in young learners and the importance of fostering a strong passion for innovation, specifically, in the classroom.

Ortiz says the experience opened the door for future opportunities, and she can't wait to see where her journey goes next. Ortiz shared how her advisor invited her to present again next year. She has also been encouraged to apply to attend an international education technology conference.

Ortiz is a shining example to her peers and teachers alike. She is kind, curious and always willing to share her passion for innovation and wisdom with others. Saucon Valley is proud to shine another spotlight on her contributions.
