Meet Our 2nd Grade Pawsitive Panthers

Elliott Gulati: The Initiative-Taker

Elliott is celebrated for his outstanding effort and politeness toward everyone he meets. He consistently shows responsibility by arriving early and diving straight into his assignments. By following all school rules and encouraging his peers to make safe choices, Elliott serves as a creative and hardworking role model for his entire class.

Vivian Bacallado: The Bright Light

Vivian exemplifies what it means to be a Pawsitive Panther through her thoughtful and empathetic nature. She is a dedicated student who takes immense pride in her work and her belongings. Whether she is using calm words to solve problems or looking for ways to include her classmates, Vivian’s kindness and polite presence make the classroom a much brighter place to learn.

Bo Reid: The Character Champion

Bo is a student who does the right thing simply because it is the right thing. He is a dependable helper, who provides full attention to his teachers and shows genuine care for his classmates' feelings. From his meticulous care of school supplies to his habit of inviting others to join him at play, Bo’s determination and integrity show exactly what "PAWS" in action looks like.

Emma Petruno: The Creative Leader

Emma is known for her infectious smile and her "PAWS-ready" attitude. She is a determined writer and a creative spirit who isn't afraid to take advice to make her work stronger. Whether she is cheering on her friends on the field or volunteering to help in the classroom, Emma’s passion for learning and her status as a positive role model make her truly "PAWSOME."

Dominic Burmester: The Consistent Role Model

Dominic enters the classroom every day with a big smile and a positive attitude that lasts until the final bell, according to his teacher. He is a master of "zero voice" transitions and can always be counted on to walk safely and silently through the halls. Helpful, kind, and deeply respectful, Dominic is a pillar of safety and responsibility within his school community.

Charles (Charlie) Prudente: The Dependable Friend

Charlie is a student who can be trusted to always follow through on his commitments. He is incredibly observant, knowing that a simple wave or a smile can change someone's day for the better. By listening attentively to others' viewpoints and taking full ownership of his actions, Charlie sets an amazing example of what it means to be a respectful and cooperative leader. Charlie was unable to attend the December board meeting, so he will be honored during January's celebration.

Honored at the School Board Meeting

The celebration for these outstanding Pawsitive Panthers culminates in a special ceremony at the School Board meeting. This is a unique opportunity for the community to recognize these students' exceptional character, and it's a reminder to board members, staff, students and families of the power of inspiring the next generation of leaders.

Students read aloud at the podium during the December School Board Meeting. They read why their teachers recognized them as Pawsitive Panthers.
  • Leading the Pledge: Selected students are honored by leading the entire School Board and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

  • Announcing Achievements: Selected students read a summary of why they were nominated, detailing how they exemplify Respect, Responsibility, Safety or Kindness in the school environment.

  • A Community Celebration: This public acknowledgment celebrates the students’ commitment to excellence in character and reinforces the importance of positive behavior, hard work and good citizenship within the entire school district.

Congratulations to all our Pawsitive Panthers. Keep demonstrating that incredible attitude, work ethic and character!
