Bethlehem, Pa. -- Saucon Valley wrestling earned five District XI medals at the District XI Class AA Wrestling Championships, held at Freedom and Liberty high schools over the weekend. In addition, Carter Chunko became the 37th wrestler in Saucon Valley history to eclipse the 100-career-win mark.
Wrestlers Dominic D’Ambola, Gavin Chunko, Carter Chunko and Mack Santoro will advance to the PIAA Southeast Regional Tournament at Warwick High School as they look to punch their ticket to Hershey for the PIAA State Championship Tournament.
Fifth place: Noah Torres, 172 pounds.
Third place: Dominic D’Ambola, 107 pounds; Gavin Chunko, 114 pounds.
District XI champions: Carter Chunko, 127 pounds; Mack Santoro, 145 pounds.
