Saucon Valley School District would like to congratulate all participating students, especially the SVHS Panthers who took home gold, silver and bronze medals. 

Hellertown, PA -- Several Saucon Valley High School students made the district Panther proud with their recent showing at the SkillsUSA District 11 Competition. Students who competed through Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School (BAVTS) collectively earned 49 medals across all of the participating districts. Saucon Valley students, in particular, contributed significantly to the group's success. 

Gold Medalists

Two Saucon Valley students captured first-place finishes-- meaning they advance to the Pennsylvania SkillsUSA State Competition in Hershey this spring:

  • Sam VanNorman — Fire Fighting Demonstration

  • Tess Wenger — Action Skills 

Silver Medalists

Saucon Valley students who earned second-place honors include:

  • Vincent Costello — Automated Manufacturing (Team)

  • Nicholas Kichline — Automated Manufacturing (Team)

  • Joel Schneider — Motorcycle Service Technology

  • Hunter Skriletz — CNC 3-Axis Milling Programmer

Bronze Medalists

Saucon Valley third-place finishers include:

  • King Aris — Related Technical Math

  • Phoenix Jones — Motorcycle Service Technology

Preparing Students for High-Demand Careers

Competitions like SkillsUSA provide technical students the opportunity to demonstrate real-world technical and employability skills in front of industry professionals. It also helps to prepare them for postsecondary education, apprenticeships, military service and direct entry into the workforce.
