Hellertown, PA -- Saucon Valley School District (SVSD) is proud to announce SVSD has earned four awards in the 2025 Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association (PenSPRA) Communications Contest.

Saucon Valley's entries went up against more than 200 others submitted by school districts across Pennsylvania. PenSPRA honored SVSD communication strategies related to transparency, community engagement and creative storytelling. The awards span multiple categories, listed below.

These honors are a direct reflection of the Saucon Valley community. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated admin team, teachers, supportive families, engaged community members and—most importantly—our students. Your collaboration make it possible for us to capture and share the meaningful stories happening within our halls. We simply strive to mirror the excellence and care you bring to Saucon Valley.

Saucon Valley’s 2025 Award Winners

  • Award of Merit: Annual Report 2024-2025

    • Project Team: Donovan Group (Liam Goldrick, Maura Bellew, Grace Griffaton

    • Context: The Annual Report is a comprehensive look at the district’s progress, fiscal health and student achievements over the past year. Winning an Award of Merit signifies that the publication met high standards of professional journalism, graphic design and clarity in explaining complex district data to the public.

  • Excellence in Special Purpose Publication: Comprehensive Plan Flipbook

    • Project Team: Donovan Group (Liam Goldrick, Brooke Pisciotto)

    • Context: The Special Purpose Publication category recognizes one-time projects designed to explain a specific initiative. Saucon Valley’s "Comprehensive Plan Flipbook" was honored for its innovative approach to making the district’s long-term strategic goals accessible and visually engaging for the community.

  • Award of Merit: Singular Video Project: "A New Holiday Tradition Takes Center Stage at Saucon Valley Elementary and Unites the Community in Joy"

    • Recipient: Grace Griffaton

    • Context: This award recognizes excellence in Visual Storytelling. The video was selected for its ability to capture the spirit of the district, utilizing high-quality production and emotional narrative to highlight the "human" side of the Saucon Valley elementary experience.

  • Honorable Mention: Newsletter Material Project: "The Heart of Saucon Valley: Connecting Community Through Transformational Communication"

    • Recipient: Grace Griffaton

    • Context: This recognition in the Newsletter category honors the district’s efforts to maintain a consistent, reliable and professional flow of information that keeps stakeholders connected to SVSD.

  • Honorable Mention: Social Media Campaign Project: "Saucon Valley's Kindness and Connections Campaign"

    • Recipient: Grace Griffaton

    • Context: This award highlights the district’s effective use of Digital Engagement. The Kindness and Connections campaign was recognized for using social media platforms to foster a positive school culture and spread the district’s core values beyond the classroom walls.

About PenSPRA

The Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association (PenSPRA) was chartered in 1969 and is an organization of school public relations professionals whose goal is to improve educational communication and support student achievement through systematic, proactive, and responsible public relations programs. PenSPRA provides school districts with the tools, training, and networking necessary to manage crisis communications, public relations, and community engagement.

The annual Communications Contest is the organization's flagship event. It is designed to recognize outstanding education communications and to provide a "seal of quality" for school districts that go above and beyond in their transparency and outreach efforts. Entries are judged by a panel of independent experts in the fields of journalism, graphic design, and public relations.
