Students gather in an office

A surprise district office visit by first grade Pawsitive Panthers left the students and administrators with smiles and a clear reminder of why we all come to school each day.

Hellertown, PA — First grade Pawsitive Panthers recently had the opportunity to explore the Saucon Valley School District Office ahead of their upcoming night of recognition.

During the visit, students -- led by Principal Amy Braxmeier -- met with the district’s business manager, where they asked thoughtful questions about how the district operates, and connected with other administrators to learn more about the people who help keep the schools running. Perhaps, the highlight of the day, though, came during their time with Superintendent Mrs. Jaime Vlasaty.

Students toured Mrs. Vlasaty’s office, asked questions about what it’s like to lead a school district, and even shared what they enjoy most about playing in the snow. Mrs. Vlasaty welcomed the surprise visit and the inquisitive conversation, and Mrs. Vlasaty enjoyed hearing directly from the students about what excites them, both in and out of school.

The visit left such an impression that a few students joked they liked the district office so much they wanted to stay for lunch.

The Pawsitive Panthers will be honored at Tuesday’s Board of School Directors meeting, where they will explain why they were nominated by their teachers. Their visit served as a reminder of the impact students have on the work administrators do each day.

This special day offered students a meaningful look at district leadership while highlighting the joy and purpose behind serving the Saucon Valley school community.
