Seal of Biliteracy
Pennsylvania Seal of Biliteracy (PASOB)
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has a rich cultural heritage, and all of our learners, schools, families, and communities benefit from celebrating cultural and linguistic diversity. To underscore these values, Pennsylvania has established a Seal of Biliteracy for students. The Seal of Biliteracy encourages students to study and attain proficiency in English and another world language to promote civic and global engagement. It also demonstrates that biliteracy and bilingualism are academically challenging endeavors. By earning the Pennsylvania Seal of Biliteracy, students demonstrate readiness to engage in the global community.
Saucon Valley School District is proud to embrace this framework to celebrate and recognize learners actively engaged in global citizenship.
Enhances college admissions applications and transcript credentialing.
Signals verified high-level bilingual capabilities to global employers.
Fosters cross-cultural empathy, engagement, and communication skills.
Official recognition awarded upon graduation from Saucon Valley.
