Health & Physical Education

A high quality Health and Physical Education program supports the physical, intellectual and social-emotional development of students. When students participate in a positive, pro-social physical fitness program and learn to make healthy choices, the conditions and opportunities for whole student development and learning also increase. For these reasons, the Saucon Valley School District believes Health and Physical Education plays an integral role in the comprehensive educational program of our students.

The Health component is designed to provide students with basic life skill concepts in mental health, personal hygiene, environmental health, safety, nutrition, substance dependency and human growth and development. Within scheduled Physical Education and Health classes, students participate in a progressive, spiraling program of activities based upon identified needs, interests, readiness and physiological development.
