    The Northampton County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, in its effort to promote the education profession and awareness of its importance, is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a Northampton County Public High School Senior whose desire is to pursue a career in the field of education. This field encompasses any position found within the school setting (ie teacher, guidance counselor, administrator, school nurse, school psychologist, and support staff). Applications are available in the counseling office or in Naviance.  
    APRIL 15, 2022

    The Arbor Insurance Group Scholarship Award was established for deserving students currently enrolled as a High School Junior (11th grade) or Senior (12th grade) in the Lehigh Valley. The $1500 scholarship can be used towards any higher-education related costs.

    Applying for the Arbor Insurance Group Scholarship Award is simple! Here are the application requirements:

    1. A short video (maximum of 30 seconds) on how you support and get involved in your community and why being involved is important to you.
    2. Proof of enrollment for the 2021/2022 academic year by submitting a copy of your most recent report card.
    3. Your most recent High School transcript.

    APRIL 15, 2022

    Dunkin' Donuts award up to 20 $5,000 scholarships to qualified students this academic year (5 of which are for Dunkin' employees, and the remaining 15 are open to the general public). Applicants must be high school seniors or current undergraduate students who plan to enroll in a part-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in Fall 2022. 

    Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of "well-rounded" character: positive academic record, demonstrated leadership, commitment to school and community activities, and experience in a work environment.

    APRIL 22, 2022

    The East Penn Section of ASHE is pleased to announce the Robert L. Brown and Robert L. Donovan Memorial Scholarship Program. This program will award a minimum of three (3) scholarships of $5,000 each to high school seniors who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a program leading to a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil and Construction Engineering Technology. 

    The completed application must be emailed/postmarked by April 22, 2022 to be considered for the Scholarship Award. The completed Application, along with all required attachments, should be emailed/mailed to the ASHE Scholarship Committee at the following address:

    APRIL 22, 2022

    The Northampton County Republican Women (NCRW) are pleased to announce the availability of $1,000 for an eligible senior female student pursuing a post-secondary education at a two/four year institution or trade school. The applicant must reside in Northampton County.

    Applicants will be judged on:

    1. Academics – a 3.5 average or above
    2. Public service:  A. Volunteer in community activities   B. Form of continuing education

    Deadline to return completed application is April 22, 2022. The winner will be selected by the Board of NCRW and the successful student’s school will be notified.

    APRIL 29, 2022
    • The Stephanie Olexa and Seth Weber Scholarship for Criminal Justice will be awarded to a high school senior or community college student majoring in criminal justice or law enforcement at an accredited institution for post-secondary education.
    • The Stephanie Olexa and Seth Weber Scholarship for the Life Sciences will be awarded to a high school senior or community college student majoring in life sciences at an accredited institution for post-secondary education.

    Multiple one-year scholarships will be awarded in 2022 totaling $4,950. Students from any public, private or charter school or community college in Lehigh, Northampton or Bucks County are eligible to apply for the scholarships.

    The deadline to apply is Friday April 29th, 2022. Awards will be announced in early June.

    2022 Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

    The Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce is offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving area youth that has need of financial assistance, is active in supporting the community in which they live and shows an eagerness to achieve through knowledge by intending to pursue post high school course of study at either college/university or other post-secondary educational institution. 

    The deadline is Friday, May 6th at 5:00 pm (NO exceptions).

    Criteria:

    1. The scholarship is available to any graduating senior residing in the Saucon Valley School District. Residence includes the Borough of Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township.

    2. An applicant must be planning to further his or her education within six months of graduating from high school. Failure to matriculate will negate the scholarship. Extenuating circumstances regarding matriculation must be explained in writing and will be considered by the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber board on an individual basis. 

    Application process:

    1. Completed application form (if handwritten, please print legibly)

    2. Two (2) letters of recommendations from choice of high school teachers, administrators, counselors, employers, or individual with significant knowledge of applicant's experience and involvement. 

    3. An official and recent high school transcript with cumulative grade point average and a class standing/rank. 

    4. Personal essay.  a. In your essay, please answer the questions of what you have done to earn this award and what affect this award will have on your future.

    GFWC PA Saucon Valley Woman's Club Scholarship

    A $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior living in the Saucon Valley School District who will be attending a minimum four-year college/university program beginning no later than fall 2022. 

    Applications are available on Naviance or in the counseling office. Please follow all directions on the application and submit the complete application.

    Saucon Valley Alumni Association Scholarship 

    A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a SVHS senior who has graduated in good standing from SVHS and who has been accepted at and will be attending an accredited four year college/university no later than the Fall semester following the student's graduation. To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, the student must be related to a Saucon Valley (aka Hellertown High School) alumnus (Parent, Grandparent, Sibling).

    A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a SVHS senior who has graduated in good standing from SVHS and who has been accepted at and will be attending an accredited two-three program, such as a community college or technical school, no later than the Fall semester following the student's graduation.  To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, the student must be related to a Saucon Valley (aka Hellertown High School) alumnus (Parent, Grandparent, Sibling).

    The Elevate Foundation grants scholarship opportunities to those looking to pursue their educational goals and who may be restricted by their financial circumstances.

    More than a scholarship program, we pair each recipient with a mentor who will be there every step of the way throughout the student's academic journey. We also link each student with internship and employment opportunities within their field.

    Each applicant is required to submit the application and letter of recommendation as well as a community service project for each year they are granted the scholarship. At our core we believe in paying it forward and award scholarship's to those whose values are in alignment.

    Deadline is Friday, May 20, 2022.

    Saucon Valley Lions Club Scholarship

    This grant is provided to an outstanding senior student of the Saucon Valley High School who has been accepted to an accredited two or four year college in a program leading to a degree. The award will consist of a $500 grant payable in the amount of $500 upon the successful completion of the first semester. 

    The following criteria are employed in the award selection process:

    1- The student shall be a graduating senior of the Saucon Valley High School

    2- The student shall maintain a 2.5 gpa at the conclusion of the third marking period of the senior year

    3- The student shall show a substantial need of financial aid

    4- The student shall have demonstrated some involvement in the school's co-curricular program

    5- The student shall have demonstrated some involvement in community activities

    6- Appplications must be returned to Saucon Valley Lions Club, P.O. Box 217, Hellertown, PA 18055 and must be postmarked by May 30th

    The selection of this award is to be made by the Saucon Valley Lions Club represented by at least 5 members.

    JULY 1, 2022

    Nadine Snyder Memorial Scholarship

    A $1,000.00 scholarship is offered in honor and memory of Nadine Snyder, a long-time Kindergarten Teacher at Saucon Valley School District.  If there are two qualified applicants, the award will be shared equally at $500.00 for each applicant.  Nadine shared a heartfelt love of learning with many Saucon Valley students.  This award will be given to a graduating senior for their first college year.

        The criteria for application are as follows:

    • Applicant should be continuing their education in an accredited college or university
    • Applicant should be planning to major in Elementary Education
    • Applicant should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Applicant should have volunteer experience particularly with young children
    • Applicant should compose an essay describing how Kindergarten prepared them for success in their later scholastic years

    JULY 8, 2022

    The Great Allentown Fair Foundation is now accepting applications for high school seniors interested in pursuing college-level education in the upcoming 2021-2022 term.

    Applicants are encouraged to download and complete the Scholarship Application Form. Once complete, it can be uploaded to us.
    Applications are due before 5:00 pm on Friday, July 8.
    Recipients will be announced at September’s Great Allentown Fair.


    THE GREENAWALD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
     
    Dedicated to the memory of William F. and Patricia Greenawald. William F. Greenawald was an ardent supporter of The Great Allentown Fair, serving on the Board, the Executive Committee, Secretary, Vice-President at the time of his death. The Scholarship was established by his wife Patricia and their four children.
     
    $1,000 for one year (restrictions apply)

    Eligible recipients must:

      • Be a graduate of an accredited high school or vocational school, and;
      • Have been accepted for admission by an accredited 4-year or 2-year educational or vocational institution that offers an agricultural curriculum, and;
      • Have demonstrated scholarship ability, leadership qualities and involvement in student or community activities, and;
      • Have exhibited at least one competitive entry in The Great Allentown (Pennsylvania) Fair

    THE LEON PETERS & BARBARA BIGELOW SCHOLARSHIP

    $2,500 for two years (restrictions apply)

    Eligible recipients must:

      • Be a graduate of an accredited high school or vocational school, and;
      • Have been accepted for admission by an accredited 4-year or 2-year educational or vocational institution that offers an agricultural curriculum, and;
      • Have demonstrated scholarship ability, leadership qualities and involvement in student or community activities
