The SVAA will participate in the upcoming Relay for Life walk, to be held in Dimmick Park on Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17. We will sell cabbage and noodles on Saturday, May 17, in the Dimmick Park Pavilion. All proceeds will be donated to the Cancer Society. Volunteers to make cabbage and noodles are very much needed. If you can help by making cabbage and noodles, the recipe is given below. The cabbage and noodles can be dropped off at the Dimmick Park Pavilion from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Arrangements can be made if that timeframe is not convenient for you.
If you can make cabbage and noodles and/or volunteer at the stand that day, please let me know.
Thank you for your consideration.
CABBAGE AND NOODLES
1 box of bow tie noodles
1 large head of cabbage (cut up in small pieces or slivered using a food processor)
1 large onion
6 tablespoons of butter
6 tablespoons of olive oil
Condiments: a little salt, pepper (white or black); paprika; garlic salt
Sauté the fresh onion with some of the olive oil to soften the onion. Start adding the cabbage to soften, add some condiments. Continue adding cabbage and more condiments until all the cabbage is used. It is alright if some of the cabbage gets a little brown. In the meantime, cook the noodles. After the noodles are cooked, combine the cabbage mixture.
Golf Tournament CHANGE!!
The SVAA will sponsor a golf tournament on Monday, September 15, 2014, at Southmoore Gold Club in Bath, PA.
This tournament will benefit the SVAA Scholarship Fund. We are hoping that the membership would be able to help us with one or more of the following:
Participation: If you are a golfer, please support our tournament by entering a foursome. Contact Larry Trexler (email@example.com) to enter a foursome.
Prizes: We would appreciate donations of prizes or money towards purchase or prizes
Volunteer: To ensure that the tournament runs smoothly, we will need a number of volunteers at the tournament that day. If you would be able to volunteer onMonday, September 15, please let Larry Trexler (firstname.lastname@example.org) know.
The Saucon Valley Alumni Association is working on a new publication designed to help bring our alumni together. Please click here for more information.
