Welcome to the meeting of the Saucon Valley School Board.  Our objective is to serve the students, parents, and residents of our community.  You are an important part of this meeting and we look forward to your questions and comments.

 

We are all here for the same reason.  All opinions are welcomed and equally valuable.  Our only request is that we address each other with civility and respect.  Our courtesy toward each other is the best way to show our students how much we respect them as well.

A.        Nomination for Temporary Chairperson

 

The President calls for nominations for Temporary Chairperson from among the seated members of the Board.   The incumbent board secretary acts as secretary for all phases of the organization meeting.

 

            B.        Presentation of Oath of Office By District Justice Diane S. Repyneck

 

C.        Nomination for President

 

D.        Nomination for Vice President

 

IV.       Election of Board Representatives

 

            A.        Bethlehem Area Vo-Technical School – Three Year Term

 

            Lachlan Peeke is completing a 3-year term ending November, 2010

            Sharon Stack is completing a 3-year term to ending November, 2009

            B.        Northampton Community College – One Year Term

 

Charles Bartolet is completing a 1-year term ending December, 2008

 

We will need one representative to serve a 1-year term to December, 2009

            C.        PSBA Legislative Representatives – One Year Term                      

 

Susan Baxter and Sandra Miller are serving 1-year terms ending December, 2008

 

We will need two representatives to serve 1-year terms to December, 2009.

 

            D.        Colonial Northampton Intermediate Unit #20 – Three Year Term

 

Susan Baxter is serving a 3-year term from July 1, 2006-June 30, 2009.

 

(Typically, an appointment is made at the January Board Meeting for a candidate to serve the next three-year term from 7/1/09 to 6/30/12.)

 

V.        Approval of Time and Place of School Board Meetings

 

The Board of School Directors of the Saucon Valley School District will meet at 7:30 PM in the Audion located on the District Campus, 2097 Polk Valley Road, Hellertown, on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. All meetings will be held for the purpose of conducting business.
